About library
Vilnius Jewish Public Library is a part of Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania. Our library is the only one in Lithuania which specialises in spreading Jewish culture in various forms. Visitors can not only read and work here but also participate in heartly developed cultural activity - art exhibitions, discussions, conferences and more. In promoting communal cohesion we are open to various forms of collaboration with Vilnius residents and guests.

In constantly growing library's collection there are more then 10 thousand different documents. Vast majority of these publications are about various topics in history and literature, including a lot of fiction. Most of the books are written in English and Lithuanian. In addition to printed publications, visitors can find films and music compositions created by various Jewish authors.

Cultural life consists not only of books and reading. There ir something more in it. First and foremost it is being together, cooperating with each other, sharing creative work and ideas. Because of this Vilnius Jewish Public Library functions not only as center of books but as center of culture too. Nuo lapkričio 7 d. Lietuvoje įsigalioja trijų savaičių karantinas (lapkričio 7-29 d.). Norime informuoti, kad mūsų biblioteka kol kas dirba įprastu laiku, tačiau atkreipkite dėmesį į laikinas taisykles:
- prašome leidinius iš anksto rezervuoti telefonu – (8 5) 219 77 48 arba el. paštu [email protected] arba per mūsų Facebook paskyrą;
- bibliotekoje esančių lankytojų skaičius ribojamas – vienu metu ne daugiau kaip 2 lankytojai (be darbuotojų). Esant per dideliam lankytojų skaičiui, prašysime palaukti lauke ir/ar užeiti vėliau;
- ribojamas jūsų apsilankymo bibliotekoje laikas – iki 15 minučių;
- bibliotekoje neveikia interneto prieiga, nevyksta renginiai.
